BIOGRAPHY
Born and raised in the great Northwest, Lauren enjoys being part of and contributing to a strong local music scene with her emphasis on music education. A recent grad from the University of Washington she received a Master's in Music Education, where she studied education research and conducting with Dr. Steven Morrison and Tim Salzman, along with jazz saxophone with Greg Sinibaldi. She received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Central Washington University in 2011 where she studied with Larry Gookin, Mark Lane, and Joseph Brooks. Between stints in college, Lauren was hired by Seattle Public Schools in 2012, teaching band and orchestra at Broadview-Thomson K-8 for two years and then orchestra and choir at Whitman Middle School for three. Lauren maintains a busy schedule performing in semi-pro and professional bands around the area where she plays clarinet with the Washington Wind Symphony, Northwest Symphony Orchestra, and the Seattle Rock Orchestra. She also gigs on saxophone playing funk, jazz, and rock around the city with numerous project groups, embracing the eclectic nature of music.
